Founded in 2015 by jewellery designer Ippolita Rostagno, Artemest is the leading online marketplace for the Italian finest handmade décor and luxury furniture.
Rostagno—who is also the owner of Ippolita, a well-known jewellery brand with flagship store in New York’s Madison Avenue—travelled throughout Italy from Venice to the Amalfi coast, from Florence to Milan, bringing together handmade products crafted by the best Italian artisans.
The purpose of Artemest is to re-establish the authentic concept of luxury based on heritage, uncompromised quality, and craftsmanship. The success obtained by Artemest in just a few years made the website has become internationally known as the online destination for artisanal luxury.
The logotype designed for Artemest—whose name is a portmanteau of Italian ‘Arti e Mestieri’ (Arts and Crafts)—is characterised by the shifting of the letters along a horizontal bar, arranged with a particular attention to spaces and positions so to evocate the concept of craftsmanship.
The logotype is used on the website—for which the header’s layout was also defined—and on the windows of Artemest Galleria in Manhattan, New York.
The originality of the logo design allowed to create a unique and recognisable identity for Artemest, contributing to establish brand awareness in the public visual imaginary.
