Irene Fenara is an emerging artist on the contemporary art scene, who is establishing herself thanks to research on visual imagery generated by contemporary technologies.
The catalogue for the exhibition ‘Blinds and other Cloudings’ is the third among those designed in 2018 for the shows curated by UNA for Milan’s Spazio Leonardo.
The design of the catalogue was developed according to the previous publications, but the layout has been adapted to the new contents in order to better emphasise the artworks.

The catalogue enhances the work of the artist by offering an interpretation which is strong in concept, but essential and restrained in its graphic expression.
The cover offers an experimental solution, featuring the printing of a high-density ultraviolet ink directly on the uncoated paper.
The transparency and brightness of the ink produce luminous letters, that effectively suggest the ideas of ‘blind’ and ‘clouding’ concepts as proposed by the title of the exhibition.
The page numbers are discreetly positioned close to the gutter.

“Blinds and other Cloudings focuses on the gesture that is behind every photographic operation—watching.”
From the Foreword
The photographs have been arranged in such a way to visually reflect the exhibition‘s experience, at the same time offering an interpretation of the exhibition itself thanks to the different medium typical to the catalogue.
In this way, images follow each other in an articulated and dynamic composition which has been conceived in order to stimulate the reader’s attention and to enhance the artworks reproduced in the catalogue.

The graphic interpretation of the exhibition and the balanced layout of the contents enhance both the aesthetics of the artworks and the concepts which they express.
The catalogue, therefore, came to be considered as an integral part to the exhibition receiving appreciation from numerous artists, curators and art collectors.
