On the occasion of the Milano Design Week 2024, UniFor—one of the world’s most respected workspace interior design and office furniture companies—unveiled Andromeda, a high-end furniture collection designed by internationally renowned architect Debra Lehman Smith of LSM Studio.
The collection is made of a few selected pieces expressing a sense of aesthetic discipline and timeless beauty through the rigorous aesthetics and the precious finishes.

The catalogue dedicated to the collection goes beyond the notion of the catalogue as a mere container of images and information. It was purposely designed to be a unique object, an extension to the furniture collection itself and an integral part to the shooting setting, the mystical space of Teatro Andromeda on the Monti Sicani, Sicily.
Defined by an essential aesthetics, the catalogue stands out for both its conceptual elegance and the bold attitude towards the material, being at the same time evocative of the ethereal purity characterising the furniture collection and the spiritual aura of which is imbued the setting location.

The pages have been entirely printed with a silver ink, covered by
a transparent glossy finishing.
The only element in the whole catalogue where is actually possible
to see the white of the paper is the

“Defined by an essential aesthetics and carefully crafted in all details, the catalogue stands out for both its conceptual elegance and the precise intervention on materials, lights and volumes.”
The cover, non-iconic and enigmatic, serves as a metaphor for the setting—a plain table of terracotta coloured rough paper (the Teatro) embracing a gleaming slab of real aluminium (the furniture collection), featuring an embossing of the title and subtitle in all capital letters.
Each element on the cover is in fact printed without any ink but obtained exclusively through embossing and debossing, thus emphasising the meticulous craftsmanship that already distinguishes the collection pieces.
Furthermore, the particular Bodoniana binding featuring a tone-on-tone paper spine creates a small step which is an apparently unimportant detail but actually a refinement reminiscent of the theatre’s staircase, thus generating an even stronger connection between the collection and its setting.

Opening the catalogue, the pages reveal themselves as abstractions—a momentum of rarefied silvery reflections on which the photographic images stand out with absolute clarity and precision, turning the pieces from the collection into timeless icons surrounded by the mythical space of the Teatro.
Despite it looks simple, the design production of the catalogue was very complex and took more than seven months, without counting the shooting. An uncompromising attention was paid to the care and definition of all details through the creation of numerous prototypes.
The accurate work and calibrated intervention on materials, lights and volumes allowed to create a parallel between the graphic aesthetic of the catalogue and that of the furniture collection, highlighting their harmonious fushion.
